It takes at least 250 volunteers to make the Spirit of the Sea Festival a safe and fun weekend for almost 100,000 participants.

JOIN US!

The following roles need to be filled:

  • volunteer coordinator,
  • money hunter,
  • activity & games planners,
  • festival infrastructure & transportation,
  • event publicity.

If you could assist in these areas, or would like to contribute in any other way, we will be very happy to hear from you.

From Vancouver, BC: Take Highway #99 south to Exit 8th Ave West. Turn left at first stop sign and right on 8th Ave (becomes Marine Drive).

From the USA: Douglas/Peace Arch Border Crossing: take the 8th Avenue Exit and go westbound five minutes along 8th Avenue to our Waterfront.
ALL DAY PARKING

Semiahmoo Park ($5/day): Marine Drive & Parker

  • This parking lot is at the Eastern end of Marine Drive, next to the Semiahmoo First Nation Salmon Bbq.
  • All Festival activities are held from Semiahmoo Park to the West, along the waterfront.
  • If arriving from the King George Hwy/Hwy 99 exits, keep going along Marine Drive to Parker Avenue (0.6 miles approx)

Centennial Park ($2/day): 14600 North Bluff Road

  • Just past 148 St / Oxford St on 16th Ave / North Bluff Road.
FREE PARKING LOTS

Semiahmoo Secondary School: 1785 - 148th Street

Central Plaza rear parking lot: 1530 Foster Street

Earl Marriott Secondary School: 15751 - 16 Ave

  • To access Festival events from these parking lots, take the Translink Festival Shuttle to the beach.

Church on Oxford Hill: 1519 Oxford St

  • This parking lot is available only on Sunday night.
  • The Church will be handing out FREE HOT DOGS to people heading down to the Torchlight Parade!!
  • This is not an "official" stop for the free Translink Festival Shuttle, but they will stop to pick you up if you flag them down as they apprach along Vine or Oxford.
DIRECTIONS TO FREE PARKING LOTS

FROM KING GEORGE HWY/HWY 99 EXITS:

  • From Marine Drive turn right on Stayte Road
  • Turn left on 16th Ave
  • FOR EARL MARRIOTT SECONDARY – Drive on 16th to 15751 16th Ave.
  • FOR CENTRAL PLAZA – Follow 16th to Foster St (the next left after 152 St / Johnston Road) turn left. Just after the covered walkway, halfway down the block, turn left into the parking lot.
  • FOR SEMIAHMOO SECONDARY – Continue on 16th to 148th St. Turn Right on 148th St. to 1785 148th Street.

 

Grosvenor Beachfront Trolley
9am to 11pm

This San-Francisco-style trolley bus will transport visitors, free of charge, from both ends of East to West Beach, along Marine Drive. Stops at all regular bus stops.

Translink Festival Shuttle
every 20 minutes or less, 9am to 11pm

FREE round trip from these parking lots only:

  • Earl Marriott Secondary
  • Central Plaza
  • Semiahmoo Secondary
  • Centennial Park.
